Roof area calculator
Find the area of a sloping (gable) roof from the building size, overhang and pitch, and count the sheets or tiles needed.
How it works
For a gable roof, each slope length = half the span ÷ cos(pitch), roof area = 2 × slope length × roof length, and ridge height = half the span × tan(pitch). Span and length include the overhang. The sheet count uses the sheet size and the overlap you enter.
Always confirm measurements for a purchase or registration with official records.
