About Measurements

Measurements is a free set of converters and calculators for Indian units.

People across India buy land in local units such as cents, guntas and bighas, gold in sovereigns and tolas, and sand in brass. Most converters online were not made for that, so you end up doing the maths by hand or trusting a rough guess. This site is built to speak those units, in English and Telugu.

We started with the units used in Andhra Pradesh and southern India. More states, units and languages are added step by step, and every number comes from a fixed definition you can check on the methodology page.

Measurements is run by Smargrid.
