Plot division calculator
Split a plot into equal parts, or find how many plots of a chosen size it makes after leaving space for roads.
How it works
Usable area = total area × (1 − roads and open space %). Equal parts: usable area ÷ number of parts. Plots of a size: whole plots = usable area ÷ plot size, rounded down, and the rest is left over. The road share is your own figure, so follow your approved layout.
How to use it
- Type the plot area and choose its unit.
- Type the share kept for roads and open space, or 0 if none.
- Choose equal parts or plots of a size, and read the result.
Worked example
1 acre is 43,560 sq ft. With no road space and plots of 200 gajam (1,800 sq ft), 43,560 ÷ 1,800 = 24.2, so you get 24 plots and 360 sq ft (40 gajam) is left. Split into 4 equal parts instead, each is 10,890 sq ft, or 25 cents.
Common mistakes
- Entering 0 for roads when the layout needs them. Use the share in your approved plan.
- Forgetting that plots are not always the same shape. Frontage and depth also matter, not only area.
- Ignoring the leftover. It may be too small to sell as a plot.
