How it works

Rate per sq ft = the rate ÷ the size of your unit in sq ft. The rate in any other unit = rate per sq ft × the size of that unit. For example, 1 cent is 435.6 sq ft and 1 gajam is 9 sq ft. Only the rate you type is used, nothing is looked up.

How to use it

  1. Type the rate in rupees.
  2. Choose the unit the rate is quoted in, such as per cent or per gajam.
  3. Read the same rate per sq ft and in every other unit.

Worked example

₹50,000 per cent: divide by 435.6 to get ₹114.78 per sq ft. Multiply by 9 for ₹1,033.06 per gajam, and by 43,560 for ₹50,00,000 per acre.

Common mistakes

  • Choosing the wrong unit. A rate per gunta and a rate per cent are very different.
  • Mixing a rate per cent with an area in guntas. Convert both to the same unit first.
  • Treating the result as a market value. It only restates the rate you typed.
